Celebration of Christmas Season in its essence, amidst the COVID 19 Pandemic
Celebration of Christmas Season in its essence,
amidst the COVID 19 Pandemic
This is most likely one of the few moments in previous history when we have
been encouraged to enjoy Christmas in its purest form, in its simplicity. We
are obsessed with rules on how to enjoy Christmas this year– with only family
members who live in the same household, to continue wearing masks, to follow
social separation, or to wash hands frequently– due to the attention on the
Covid virus. For our mutual security and safety, we are being prevented from
seeing each other. This year, we won't be able to experience the normal
Christmas joy and mirth that we've come to expect. Covid, however, must not
detract from our Christmas festivities. This holiday season, let us share even
more hope, peace, joy, and love. And it is here that I am reminded of our
Savior's birth. The Christmas tale is a straightforward one. Only his mother
and father were present when our Lord and Savior was born in a manger. A
shepherd, a few animals, and the three magi were among his visitors. It's a
heartfelt reminder of the season's inherent meaning. This year has been
challenging for all of us, but we remain hopeful. God is with us, has always been
with us, and will always be with us, despite all of the chaos and terror that
the epidemic has brought. The light of the world is God.
